The 9th European Business Summit titled “Europe in the world: leading or lagging” was held in Brussels on 18th and 19th May. The summit was dedicated to today´s and future place of Europe in global economy. In the framework of the summit, a survey evaluating European economy and European business environment was presented. The study examined seven levers for accelerating growth and job creation: Economy governance, Entrepreneurship and SME's, Human capital and labour markets, ICT and social media, Innovation, Industry strategy, Trade and investment. The survey is based on more than 400 responses from 400 C-level business executives from companies established around the world doing business in Europe. Their expectation about future of European growth is more optimistic than last year and 45% of them intend to increase investments in Europe by 5% - 20%. According the survey the managers perceive the adopted measures aimed at decreasing public debt as insufficient and the fiscal consolidation should not be let-up.
